Where can you go for mental health support in Ballarat?
This guide can be downloaded or viewed online. It aims to help young people, families and their carers navigate the mental health systems in Ballarat.
Headspace is a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in programs and services to support Youth Mental Health. In doing so, Headspace runs many workshops, webinars and programs for parents, who want to support their children who perhaps are demonstrating or expressing feelings of high stress levels, anxiety and/or challenges in self-regulating their behaviour.
Headspace also host community and support groups for parents who are looking for ways to support their children exploring their own gender and sexual identity.

BADAC is the Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) for the Ballarat and district area. BADAC delivers health, social, welfare and community development programs to local Aboriginal people. BADAC offers services such as Family Support, Cultural Planning and overall support for Social and Emotional Wellbeing.

Be You is a national initiative for educators, aimed at promoting and protecting positive mental health in children and young people. Under the resources tab, you will find an array of resources that can support you to respond to the challenges in areas such as relationships, grief, adolescent development and the impacts of COVID.
If you aren’t too sure about what supports you need, but feel that you would like support, Orange Door is a great place to start. The Orange Door is a free service for adults, children and young people who need extra support with the care of children.

Ballarat Community Health aim to address the overall health and wellbeing of all Ballarat Community Members, with majority of services being covered by Medicare. In partnership with Headspace, Ballarat Community Health is able to respond o an array on needs for all members of the community.
