Our senior years learning program—Aspire—guides students through their final years of schooling with purpose, flexibility, and personalised support.

Aspire: Year 11 & 12 Pathways at Marian College

Whether students are preparing for university, trades, training, or direct entry to the workforce, Aspire offers a range of learning pathways to suit their individual goals and strengths.

In Years 11 and 12, students may pursue one of the following pathway options:

  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE):
An academically focused program offering a broad selection of subjects that prepare students for tertiary study and a wide range of career opportunities.

  • VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM):
A hands-on, applied learning pathway that supports students in developing practical skills through core subjects, structured work placement, and a compulsory VET course.

  • Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC):
A flexible, inclusive certificate that supports students who require a more individualised learning experience. It focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, personal development, and employability to support future education, training, or employment.

  • Vocational Education and Training (VET):
VET courses are available to students in both the VCE and VCE VM pathways and provide industry-specific training with nationally recognised qualifications. VET contributes towards the completion of senior secondary certificates and enhances career readiness.

All students are supported through:

  • Individualised course counselling and subject selection conferences

  • Career planning sessions

  • Ongoing guidance from Pathways Coordinators, Homeroom teachers, and the Careers team

At Marian College, the Aspire program encourages students to take ownership of their learning, explore their strengths, and prepare with confidence for their next steps beyond school.
